Recreational Dance

No try-out is required. These classes exist to highlight the basic fundamentals of dance and give students the chance to learn and perform in front of an audience.

The recreational program begins in August and ends with our annual Infinity recital. Repetition is key when learning technical skills and dancers build on those skills throughout the year. Students are encouraged to participate in the recital to showcase all they learn throughout the year.

No new students will be enrolled after January 1, 2024 until summer class enrollment opens in June.

Tuition is due monthly.

Recreational Dance Curriculum

Pre K Dance

This class is designed for children 3-4 years. Dancers will learn basic skills in ballet, jazz, and creative movement. This class is packed full of fun and energetic activities that allow them to use their imaginations. Dancers will have the opportunity to work with a variety of music and props to promote self-expression, creativity, and confidence.

Jazz is a high energy class that is excellent for anyone who is serious about advancing their skills as a dancer. Our instructors determine which level is appropriate for each dancer. Technique classes include up-beat music, strength/ flexibility building exercises, and education on proper the forms for turns, leaps, kicks, etc.

Hip Hop is an evolved style of street dance that incorporates popping and locking to the latest hip hop music. It is also a fantastic resource for dancers to develop their body isolation skills. Hip Hop classes have open registration, meaning that you can start at any point in the year and do not have to take another style/class in conjunction with it.

Ballet is the critical foundation of all other dance styles (jazz, lyrical, tap, etc), therefor it is essential for every dancer’s development. Ballet classes are disciplined, and focus on proper body placement, alignment, and turnout while incorporating important dance terminology. A formal ballet class includes a barre warm-up, stretches, center practice, and across the floor combinations.

This class incorporates movement of the feet and ankles to create rhythmic sounds and patterns. Tap is a great way to develop a dancer’s footwork, coordination skills, and understanding of music.
