Recreational Dance Curriculum
Pre K Dance
This class is designed for children 3-4 years. Dancers will learn basic skills in ballet, jazz, and creative movement. This class is packed full of fun and energetic activities that allow them to use their imaginations. Dancers will have the opportunity to work with a variety of music and props to promote self-expression, creativity, and confidence.
Jazz
Jazz is a high energy class that is excellent for anyone who is serious about advancing their skills as a dancer. Our instructors determine which level is appropriate for each dancer. Technique classes include up-beat music, strength/ flexibility building exercises, and education on proper the forms for turns, leaps, kicks, etc.
Hip-Hop
Hip Hop is an evolved style of street dance that incorporates popping and locking to the latest hip hop music. It is also a fantastic resource for dancers to develop their body isolation skills. Hip Hop classes have open registration, meaning that you can start at any point in the year and do not have to take another style/class in conjunction with it.
Ballet
Ballet is the critical foundation of all other dance styles (jazz, lyrical, tap, etc), therefor it is essential for every dancer’s development. Ballet classes are disciplined, and focus on proper body placement, alignment, and turnout while incorporating important dance terminology. A formal ballet class includes a barre warm-up, stretches, center practice, and across the floor combinations.
